The Benefits of Staging

Some people don't seem to understand the benefits that staging has, when you are trying to sell your home. As an Interior Designer, I can stage a house to make it shine, and to show off the reasons why someone should buy it. Many people are under the assumption that staging is simply de-cluttering. Although this can be a part of it, there are a lot of other elements that come into play when staging a property.

Here is an example of a "mini-staging" that I did for a friend of mine. This is just a snippet of what can be done, but show that a room can be better displayed with a little bit of help. Check out the before and after...

Muted Colours

With the haze from the forest fires, we see our colours washed out. The same type of palette can be accomplished by using a monotone colour scheme. It can be quite soothing, and calm.

Chevron vs Herringbone

A term you'll be hearing a lot of this season, in decor and in fashion, is Chevron. A chevron pattern is similar to a herringbone pattern. Herringbone runs straight joints, while Chevron runs a mitered, or 45% angled joint. Can you determine which is which?
